To sit among graves, to drink tea and chat with friends is rather usual for Hindu, who visit with much pleasure the restaurant built at a real cemetery. In spite that many tourists are amazed and scared at the sight of such interior, the local residents got used to eat in such extravagantly dismal situation.
Restaurant at the cemetery being more than 40 years has a quite "suitable" name "Chance Hotel". The basis of its interior comprises 22 real graves, situated between wooden tables and chairs. The visitors happen to sit near the burial site, and the waiters have all the time to climb the graves in order to serve the customers.
The restaurant acquired its uncommon decoration after his owner Krishna Kutty refused to destroy the cemetery, like others did so according to authorities' instructions to eliminate graves for further construction. He decided to leave the graves, in some of them the famous Hindu poets and saints were buried. He constructed a restaurant among them, painted the walls with bright colors and from now he every morning wipes the graves with a wet tissue and puts there fresh roses meeting the clients, that every day are numbered about 300 persons.
In the "Chance Hotel" you can taste about nine tens of vegetarian dishes, but he is particularly known with his tea and white buns with butter. Every day many tourists and artists pass by this restaurant and not each of them dares to enter there. "I am taking the heart to enter. It is very scary, there are the graves everywhere", - said one tourist standing outside.
